Mary’s Board is an end grain chopping block with an outer square of solid black walnut and an interior of solid hard maple. This chopping block can also be made with a ‘counter bumper’ to allow the block to rest against the front edge of a counter-top. Construction requires a 4-day process of multiple cuts and glue-ups. This baby is sort of the Mt. Everest of cutting boards. It’s big; it’s a really tough project to tackle; and the result is pretty spectacular. The third picture is an ‘action shot’ sent in by a client (thanks, Mike!) Clients generally choose dimensions of approximately 18″ X 22″ X 1.5″, but I will be happy to customize these to meet your preferences. Of my premium boards, this is the most popular design.
