This was a fun commission for a customer in Austin, TX. He offices out of his high-rise townhome and wanted a table that served as both a dining room table and a work table. He had numerous gadgets and laptops, so required a large power strip. The solution I came up with was to recess the power strip into the center of the table, then fabricate a votive candle holder that would sit on top of the power strip and cover it when it was not in use. All metal fabrication (table and chairs) was done by Kevin Foley of Gearhead Originals. http://gearheadoriginals.com/ A portion of the distressing was performed by my all-too-willing munchkins, who regretted that I wouldn’t let them use the angle grinder.
